A new commercial facility for experiencing MR called “DEJIMA by 1 → 10” opened on September 19, 2020 in the large scale and recently completed ‘HANEDA INNOVATION CITY’ next to the Haneda Airport.
The use of digital art, immersive production, and the latest MR technology provides a new but somewhat nostalgic experience. This Mixed Reality experience takes place in an imaginary world that is “neo-Japanesque” where there is a fusion of Japanese culture with innovative technology.
In this virtual modern Japan created using augmented reality in space, nostalgic old scenery and seasonal pleasures unfold. The digital art reflected in the MR glass, “Magic Leap 1,” brings surprise and nostalgia.
About the Program: ‘The Heart of ZIPANGU’
Concept: “If Japan Didn’t Open Its Country”
It is an imaginary world where Japanese tradition and innovation unite under the concept “If Japan Didn’t Open Its Country”. In other words, what if Japan had achieved remarkable technological and industrial development without opening itself up to the outside world. Japan’s unique sense of beauty may have been left as it is, however, a completely different reality might have been waiting.
