Between the pixels is a VR piece in which white, red, green, and blue flat images are arranged in the shape of a room.
The space flickers at high speed, directly attacking one’s visual sense.
Gigandect’s concept of expression is “to make people feel uncomfortable or sad with as few things as possible using chiptune-like ideas.”
The flat image is not 3DCG but GIF data of less than 1 MB.
This space is composed of 17 GIF data. The GIFs peeking into the facial image data in the center are less than 1 MB, making the capacity of this VR space quite small.
Using STYLY, I wanted to make people feel uncomfortable or sad with as little material as possible, using a chiptune-like concept. The material is 640 KB including BGM.https://t.co/E5XJ4f5nph #STYLY

Because VR goggles are media devices that intensify your sensory experience, they risk becoming a kind of torture device.
Even if you close your eyes, the sensation will burn into your eardrums.
Let’s read Gigandect’s statement here:
FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU.

Gigandect is always aggressive.
But as solid as the concept of this piece is, Gigandect has always had an aesthetic for the aggressive.
The music he describes as the “Game Boy Sound” could be considered the same concept.
In our society, we are constantly surrounded by information, and we have become information-consuming creatures.
What is Gigandect’s view in this information-rich society?
It not only is aggressive but also questions the way we live and consume in the information society.
It tries to appreciate such a world.
Appreciate it until you are on the edge of feeling sick.
