This time, I’d like to introduce you to the work of creator unit Kiki Yuzuki, “YUMELT”, which was held at PARK Harajuku for three days only from March 12 to 14.
This event was held as an exhibition to celebrate the release of the ARzine “YUMELT”.
In this article, I will explain the work with photos from the event, focusing on the ARzine and the form of expression of the exhibition using AR.
What is the creator unit KikiYuzuki?
KikiYuzuki is a creator unit formed by YuzukiYuna, who is active in a variety of fields other than modeling, and Kikiyu, who specializes in expressions utilizing VR/AR.
Kikiyu is an illustrator who has collaborated with V artists “KMNZ” and “somunia” on their artwork and official goods. In April 2020, she is planning and producing the somunia virtual exhibition “fis exhibition”.
Model / Creator
She is a model, a photographer who embodies virtual culture, and a creator of zines.
Recently, she is also active as a toy hunter, and her dream is to create soft vinyl and other toys.
The creator unit “KikiYuzuki” is characterized by the fact that they don’t stick to one thing. KikiYu is an illustrator, but she is also good at using 3DCG to create a variety of expressions. YuzukiYuna is a model, but she is also active by stepping outside the boundaries of modeling and venturing into unknown territory. I felt that “YUMELT” was an expression made possible by these two.
From here, I will explain the work based on the concept of the ARzine “YUMELT”.
YUMELT is an experimental creation by Kiki Yuzuki, inspired by the real-life social network accounts “YuzukiYuna” and “suamagirl,” and turned into a story that can be read and experienced as an AR×zine.

When you open the zine, you’ll see that YuzukiYuna’s unique and cute world view is expressed by Kiki Yuki, and it’s also a very impressive and complete photo book. This zine was inspired by the SNS of YuzukiYuna and suamagirl, and if you read this zine again after seeing the SNS, you might notice something you didn’t notice before.
What was interesting about this zine was the way it was expressed in AR by displaying STYLY markers (QR codes) in the zine, so that you could enjoy the work in both two and three dimensions. One of the most interesting aspects of the zine was the AR representation of YuzukiYuna, which made it seem as if she had jumped out of a photograph and into our real world. The ARzine “YUMELT” gave us a fresh feeling of excitement as we did not know what would happen until we saw it through AR.
Staging the exhibition space with AR
What was impressive this time was the way they used not only the zine but also the exhibition space and AR stickers to create a world view. This is also a point of interest.
Although the event has ended, you can still experience AR and AR stickers in the exhibition space at PARK Harajuku, so if you are interested, please try it out.
We have introduced the ARzine “YUMELT” created by the creator unit “Kiki Yuzuki”.
We hope you’ve all had a chance to experience KikiYu and YuzukiYuna’s virtual cute zine!
