〜Creating a new UGC culture of AR x Music Video〜
The joint project “NEWVIEW”, a collaboration between Psychic VR Lab (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), provider of the VR/AR/MR creative platform STYLY (https://styly.cc), PARCO Corporation (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), and LOFTWORK Co. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), announced the launch of “NEWVIEW CYPHER #Music,” the fifth installment of its genre-specific xR expression community “NEWVIEW CYPHER”. It was announced that they will create music videos using AR and the song “Yoru ni Kakeru” by YOASOBI, “a unit that turns novels into music”, and have started recruiting artists and creators to participate in the project.
*xR is a generic term for technologies that combine the real world and virtual world to provide new experiences, such as VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality).
NEWVIEW #Music:https://newview.design/cypher/music/
NEWVIEW CYPHER is a community activity where creative expressions of all genres are expressed through xR in a freestyle manner. The fifth initiative, “NEWVIEW #Music”, will explore the new possibilities of AR x MUSIC with YOASOBI, “a unit that turns novels into music”. Until now, it has been common for official music videos to be released as one-of-a-kind works in order to convey the worldview of the song to users. In this community activity, we aim to create a new UGC (User Generated Content) AR music video culture to explore the possibilities of expression and experience of music.

Turning the user’s own original experiences and scenery brought forth through the song, MV, and original story of “Yoru ni Kakeru” by YOASOBI into a music video using AR.
The collaboration artist for NEWVIEW #Music is YOASOBI, a unit that turns novels into music. The music video production project will be developed as a pillar of community activities in the form of a collaboration between YOASOBI and users. Starting today we are accepting applications from artists and creators who want to explore the xR expression of music through the production of AR content and AR music videos based on the hit song “Yoru ni Kakeru”. The work will be created through meetups and workshops.
From September 12th to October 31st, we will be accepting entries for the AR Works Category for works that incorporate the user’s own original experiences and scenery brought forth by the “Yoru ni Kakeru” song, MV, and original story. From November 1st to November 30th, we are looking for video works for the Video Works Category that have been filmed and edited based on the works gathered through the AR Works Category. Benefits will be provided by YOASOBI for both categories.
We hope that the participation of many artists, creators, and users will lead to a new movement.
*The AR work and sample works used in the video production will be released separately.

About NEWVIEW CYPHER
NEWVIEW CYPHER is a community activity where creative expressions of all genres are expressed through xR in a freestyle manner. Like a hip-hop cypher, artists and creators from each genre gather and present their works to each other. Through mutual exchange and study, the artists and creators evaluate and praise each other’s highly original styles, and through this exchange and study, we will develop xR expression in each genre. As a culmination of the activities, an “Open Cypher” event will be held where participating artists/creators will make public presentations of their works and the best works will be selected. Unlike awards, there will be no jury, and the best works will be selected by participants’ votes. There will also be an open call for entries, and the works will be introduced at the event and presented with awards.
