STYLY will beta release a session feature this August that will allow multiple users to share their experiences. We will hold a tour event for the media to showcase the new feature starting August 19.
What is a “Session”?
A “Session” refers to a VR experience designed for multiple users interacting in the same VR space. The VR experience has always been confusing to users who don’t know what to do in VR, but this session feature helps to reduce this confusion. Now, VR guides can instruct and provide guided tours to multiple users at the same time and in the same session.
This session feature is designed to separate users into a host and other guest users. The host can create a session and invite others to participate as guest users. Guest users can gather together, interact, and chat in a STYLY VR scene selected by the host. When the host switches the session to another VR scene, the scene experienced by all users participating will also change. Even if you have experienced a VR work alone in the past, you can gain a new perspective and awareness by experiencing the VR work with a VR guide.
In this beta release, users will be able to participate in a session based on an ID or URL that is known in advance. In order to use this feature, you need a STYLY-enabled VR HMD. Guest users will appear in the VR scene as a default avatar provided by STYLY.
NEWVIEW Tour
The NEWVIEW (https://newview.design/), which began in 2018, is a project designed to cultivate new and creative VR expressions and experiences in a three-dimensional space. The project has produced numerous advanced VR artworks.
The NEWVIEW Tour is an event where you can learn more about the history and exciting future of the NEWVIEW project by experiencing select VR artworks created by award-winning artists. The tour includes an exclusive guided session with a VR host who will take you on an incredible journey through three-dimensional space. It is a great opportunity to connect, share, and interact with other users while in the same session. This course is available mainly for media professionals.
The first tour will be held on Wednesday, August 19.
More tours will be scheduled in the future.
