The Sanrio Puroland (otherwise known as Hello Kitty Land), a theme park famous for Hello Kitty, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. This year Sanrio has organized the first KAWAII Awards in AR to celebrate with fans in a virtual space.
Using STYLY, Sanrio fans can decorate a virtual Puroland Anniversary venue. Fans can use their own original materials using assets featuring Sanrio characters to create their own one-of-a-kind virtual space and enter their works into the KAWAII Awards. The KAWAII Awards are very special and can be shared by children and adults alike. At 30 years, Sanrio and the characters developed by Sanrio are both new for the young and nostalgic for the old. Sanrio hopes that fans will enjoy celebrating these awards together with these beloved characters.
In order for people who have never created AR to apply, Sanrio is holding a free online school to learn how to create in AR using STYLY. The curriculum is aimed at elementary school students and older.

You can view Pompompurin AR content from the Digital KAWAII Awards website, which allows you to imagine the kind of AR content you can create using STYLY. Using the STYLY mobile app you can scan the QR code using your smartphone camera.
