[Photogrammetry] Architectural Digital Archive No. 4 “VR version”

Zenarai Benten VR was produced by Ryu lilea (Ryu Fujiwara I am Ryu lilea (Fujiwara Ryu).

In the

previous article, I wrote about “post-processing part”.
This time, I will write about “VR version” that summarizes the tips when making

Collider

lightening

The

first thing necessary for VR is to create a collider for “walking.

Using MeshCollider is convenient because the mesh for rendering can be made a collider as is, but this has the disadvantage that it generates two meshes, one for rendering and another for collider, which doubles the mesh.

In

photogrammetry, the mesh count becomes large, and doubling it is a big burden.

To solve this, prepare a separate object for MeshCollider.

Here, the

mesh

for rendering

STYLY Upload Split Upload Technique

The

size that can be uploaded to STYLY is 200MB, but if the Scene to be uploaded is just short of 200MB, the upload will fail.
This may be due to the fact that when the assets are bundled during upload, the size increases slightly.

*The error message does not indicate “over capacity” but “time out”

The

best way to deal with this is to “reduce data” but the following method can be

used.

Use “Prefab upload” instead of “Scene upload”.

  1. Combine all objects in a scene into two or more Prefabs
(each Prefab should be less than 200MB)
  2. Upload each Prefab to STYLY
  3. Place each Prefab in STYLY

Although it is a very powerful method, I think it is an effective way to reduce the space of the Scene.

The Zenarai Zaiten VR was our first attempt at wide-area photogrammetry, but it revealed many possibilities and issues, and we are grateful for the feedback we have received.

This is the end of this series, though, Zenarai Zaiten VR will continue to work hard for the next update. We are working hard on the next update of Zenarai Zaiten VR, and we would like to share our findings with you again. We hope to share our findings with you in the future.
Thank you very much for reading my poor writing.

I am not limited to the Zenarai Zaiten, If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by Mention/DM!
