In this article, I will introduce some really good photogrammetry works that you can see at STYLY Gallery.
There are many photogrammetry works in STYLY Gallery, from original arts to archive scenes cut out from reality. I hope readers of this article journey into the numerous scenes in STYLY Gallery, or start creating their very own photogrammetry scenes.

Emma VR: Painting Life

I was in my good friend Emma’s art gallery, looking at her artwoks. The paintings were large and beautiful, but I was unsure of what message the paintings wanted to share. I found myself wanting to enter into her paintings. I asked her to show me where her paintings had been created, and she showed me the sculpture that she painted in the painting. I tried to understand her paintings more, but still there was something missing. That night, I found that the paintings on the wall were dancing inside myself. I was able to touch the sculptures in her paintings, and experienced the stories that inspired her artworks. I realized that I finally understood her feelings and messages of her paintings.

This artwork was awarded the SILVER prize at the NEWVIEW AWARDS 2018. The basic concept of this scene is to hold a private exhibition of Emma’s artworks in VR. But by creating not only her artworks, but her photogrammetry scanned atelier and room with it, this scene has created a very special experience.
The scales of the scenes created using photogrammetry are different from that of the real world. This adds a dream-like experience, as if the viewer is entering Emma’s mind.

The Museum of Photogrammetry

There are numerous photogrammetry 3D models displayed in the ”The Museum of Photogrammetry”. If you want to learn what you can do with photogrammetry, yow will be able to find many examples in this STYLY scene.
There are some models that that were originally created by the creator, and some models are imported from Sketchfab. Photogrammetry creators from all over the world are posting their works on Sketchfab, and you can download high quality 3D models for free. Combining different models from Sketchfab, and creating your own original museum scene is another way to enjoy STYLY. NOTE: Just remember to keep licenses in mind

You can learn how to download 3D models from Sketchfab here.

shape memory of you

Creator:Discont(You can experience the scene in VR from here

Has virtual reality really matched up with the reality humans can feel in the real world with their real bodies? In VR, you lose your body, which you can always feel so easily everyday. The loss of body senses results in making your senses numb, and you cannot feel reality through them. This makes you suddenly realize that you are surrounded by digital information. This is why I feel a strong sense of divergence within virtual reality. But I have prepared 7 installations here, where each of them will make you feel your body senses as if in reality. This is a journey to see the small memory devices.

This work received the PARCO award in the NEWVIEW AWARDS 2018. The creator created a garden using photogrammetry, scanning natural objects such as seashells, stones and nuts. If you change the scale of photogrammetry objects so they become larger than humans, you can even create mountains and caves from small objects. As if a little child plays with small seashells and stones, you can create your very own world with STYLY.

BALMUNG

Creator:BALMUNG(You can experience the scene in VR from here

Until recently, the only ways for a fashion brand to promote their products were by photo or video. But with the development of VR, there are now new and effective ways of promotion. In this world called “BALMUNG”, many products from the fashion brand “BALMUNG” has been 3D scanned and are placed on display in this STYLY scene.
The creator can add Youtube videos and photos into the scene easily, and can express the visions of the brand by placing 3D models, videos, pictures, or words.

Music3,4fun de owacchimauyone

This scene is from the VR project of Yurumerumo! which started as a memorial of it’s 5th anniversary. It aims to 3D modelize all of the Yurumerumo! member costumes, and archive them in a STYLY scene. The scenes are each also created as a VR music promotion video scene, and displays the Yurumerumo! world.
The 3D models of the members are animated using a service called “mixamo”. By using mixamo, creators can easily animate human models.

This article introduces the details of “mixamo”.

Bibury StyleTransfer

Creator:nobelchoco(You can experience the scene in VR from here

This scene changes the styles of 3D models created by photogrammetry. A technology called style transfer is used, and the 3D models change their style over time like an animation. It also changes the lightings just like the sun moves along by time, but this is did with style transfer too.
The creator explains the details of this work at twitter, so those interested should check it.

The Light and Dust

In this scene, both the photogrammetry scanned 3D model and the original construction on video are displayed. Photogrammetry is very skilled in archiving objects and areas, but for things such as lights, sound, the wind, videos or photos may be better. By using the most suitable way of archiving for each, one is able to save the construction’s archive from multiple points of view.

Photogrammetry of landscapes from all over the world

Original artworks created from photogrammetry 3D models are extremely interesting. But that is not the only way to use photogrammetry. Many scenes that are created as a copy of the real world using photogrammetry are registered at STYLY. By walking in these scenes, you can journey to anywhere from within your home.
